I'm putting together a gaming PC and need some advice on choosing the right GPU. Here's my current setup: I'm using an Intel i7-6700k CPU with an Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha motherboard. I have 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3333MHz, and for storage, I'm using two 500GB Samsung SATA SSDs. I don't have a GPU yet and I'm relying on a 1000W EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 power supply. My case is ATX, and I have older Corsair coolers and fans. Right now, my monitor is 1080p at 60Hz, but I plan to upgrade to a 1440p 144Hz display in the future. My budget for the GPU is between $300 and $600, and I want to make sure I get one that won't bottleneck my CPU too much but still offers great gaming performance. If there's anything else you think I should provide, let me know!

If you're looking at that budget and want to avoid bottlenecking with your setup, I'd suggest looking into something like the RTX 3060. But honestly, with your CPU and motherboard being around 10 years old, you might want to consider upgrading those as well. You could potentially find a used RTX 3060 online for around $200, which would give you a decent performance boost without breaking the bank. Also, your power supply is quite old; replacing that could be a good idea too!
Yeah, I've been thinking of just doing a whole rebuild to keep it up-to-date.

What motherboard and CPU combo would you recommend for an upgrade?
