I've installed a Chinese keyboard on my Windows laptop, but I'm struggling to figure out how to type symbols. All the keys seem like regular letters, so when I type, I just get letters. Can anyone show me how to use this keyboard to type symbols?

Ensure you've enabled the right keyboard layout by going to Settings > Time & Language > Language. Add Chinese if it’s not there yet. After installation, you can switch between keyboards using the taskbar icon or a shortcut like Win + Space or Ctrl + Shift.

If you're just looking to type symbols, installing the Chinese IME (Input Method Editor) is a good way to go. Alternatively, using the Character Map tool can help you find symbols without needing to learn the keyboard layout.

When using a Chinese pinyin keyboard, you typically only need to type the first letter of each character's pinyin. For instance, to type "你好吗" (Nǐ hǎo ma, meaning How are you?), you just input "nhm" and then choose the correct characters from the list that pops up.
