Should I Upgrade My Old PC or Just Get Rid of It?

I'm considering whether it's worth upgrading my current PC, especially with a budget of around 450-500 euros. My main use is playing League of Legends at 1080p, ideally hitting 144fps while also running Spotify without dropping below 60fps like I'm experiencing now. I might do some light video editing too. Here's my current setup:

- Motherboard: Gigabyte AB350M-DS3H V2
- CPU: Athlon 200GE
- RAM: 2 x 4GB DDR4
- Storage: 240GB SSD Kingston
- PSU: 350W

With these specs and my limited budget, is it feasible to upgrade, or should I just throw in the towel and look for a new system?

Is it really that bad? Just upgrade the BIOS and consider a Ryzen 5000 series CPU with decent RAM. You’d have to be cautious about power requirements, but it might keep you gaming longer without completely breaking the bank.

Upgrading may be a tough call—but don’t write off your current PC just yet. If you can handle a little DIY, consider turning it into a home server or even using it for basic tasks. If it still works fine, don’t just toss it out!

You can probably squeeze more life out of your current setup if you play around with it. People often find good deals on used parts! But if you aim to run newer games, it might make more sense to invest in a prebuilt machine instead.

You might have a couple of upgrade options, but keep in mind you'll be limited. You could swap in a Ryzen 5 1600, get 16GB of RAM, plus a new PSU. That said, those upgrades won't exactly make your system a powerhouse either. If you’re looking for performance in newer games, it’s probably better to save up and go for a whole new build.

Sounds like the smart move. Sometimes investing in a new system pays off way more than piecing together an old one.

Honestly, upgrading this setup seems pretty challenging. Everything really needs an upgrade—your CPU, RAM, and PSU are all quite underwhelming for modern games. For your budget, you could probably build a new rig that easily runs League at 150fps without breaking a sweat. Consider going with something like an i5, a decent GPU, and 16GB of RAM; you should be able to snag all that for about 500 euros.
