Hey everyone! I'm aiming for a completely keyboard-driven workflow on Linux, specifically on Fedora with Wayland. I've been using Vimium in my browser and love it, but I'm looking for tools that can help me control the entire system without using a mouse. I'd really appreciate your recommendations on software or setups that can facilitate this, especially if they're similar to Vimium but for the OS or other applications. What do you all use?

Honestly, you could start by switching to a tiling window manager like i3 or Sway. They are designed for keyboard-centric navigation and can really enhance your workflow. A lot of users, including myself, find it beneficial once you get used to the shortcuts. Give it a shot!

Totally agree! I was hesitant at first, but using a tiling WM made a huge difference for me.

If you want something a bit different, AwesomeWM might be for you. It's flexible and allows for keyboard shortcuts with options to float windows, which you might find useful. Plus, it's Lua-based for configuration, which makes it logical and easy to adjust to your preference.

Switching to a tool like Neovim for text editing is a game changer. You can do nearly everything keyboard-driven with it, plus it integrates well with various environments. And don’t forget a good application launcher like Rofi, which can make finding and starting applications a breeze without using the mouse!

Neovim is everything! Especially when it's fully customized. I can't imagine going back to a regular editor.

You should definitely check out Qutebrowser for your browsing needs. It's designed to be operated entirely via the keyboard, which should fit your goal perfectly. For file management, try out terminal-based options like Ranger or the file browser Yazi. They're quite powerful without needing a mouse!

I've been using Ranger and it’s great! Once you get used to the commands, it feels super quick.

Another recommendation is to use an app launcher. Try Wofi or Rofi as they function similarly to launchers on macOS. They really enhance the overall experience when you're trying to limit mouse use. It's all about finding the right combo of tools that best suits your workflow!
