Is it worth buying a set of DDR5 RAM for $500?

My neighbor is offering a deal on unopened DDR5 RAM sticks—specifically 6400 32x2. I really only need one set but he's not willing to sell them separately. Considering the current market situation, do you think I should go ahead and buy them?

For just a little extra, around $50 more, you could snag 96GB of new RAM. There's a good deal on PCPartPicker for Corsair Vengeance RGB. Why spend $500 for something you might not fully utilize?

He's selling unopened RAM, though. If you only need 64GB, you might be able to sell the extra set later.

Yeah, getting more for less seems better. Why not?

If you don't need the second set, just sell it on eBay after buying it. You could make some of your money back that way!

$500 for those sticks?! I got 2x32GB just a month ago for only $86. The prices are all over the place right now!

Exactly! At $250 for a 64GB set or $500 for 128GB, the prices seem a bit off.
