I'm almost 30 and currently studying education while pursuing a degree in mathematics. Due to work and family commitments, I started university a bit later, and now I'm diving into programming. I'm particularly interested in learning Python and SQL to leverage my math skills. However, I sometimes feel like I'm starting late and worry that my lack of prior experience will make it challenging to break into the field. I'm not intimidated by AI and am eager to learn, but I want to build a solid foundation that will help me connect my mathematical knowledge with programming. I'm looking for advice on how to proceed, project ideas, community recommendations, or any encouragement to help me feel better about starting this journey. Any feedback is welcome, even if it's tough love!

"Age is just a number!" It honestly doesn’t matter when you begin your learning journey. Go for it—you’ve got this! The enthusiasm you have at 30 might just be the advantage you need. Don't let age stop you from pursuing your interests.

You’re definitely not too late to the party! I started learning programming at 42 after spending years in a different field. The key is to manage your expectations and get practical experience wherever you can. My previous role as a support engineer helped me a lot—I learned about common mistakes in code and how to handle bug reports. Companies often prefer candidates with real-world experience over younger folks without any. Just keep learning and pushing forward, age is not a barrier! Good luck!

I started at 42, but I was already in my 30s when I got serious about programming. Don't let anyone tell you that you’re too old; everyone’s journey is different. Focus on gaining experience and use your math skills to your advantage!

You're totally fine to start now. I began my programming adventure at 33 and it’s been amazing, even though I’m primarily in education. It’s more about the direction and motivation you have than your age. Learning helps you grow and challenge yourself!
