Help! Is My New PC Build Overheating?

I just finished building my first PC today and was super excited to try it out. But as soon as I loaded into a Minecraft world, everything crashed. I used CoreTemp along with Task Manager and managed to grab some stats right before it shut down. The temperatures and power usage were pretty alarming! Here's what I found:

- Power: 214.2W
- Tdie: 110°C
- Tccd 0: 107°C
- Core 0: 87°C
- Core 1: 95°C
- Core 2: 93°C
- Core 3: 106°C
- Core 4: 100°C
- Core 5: 105°C
- Core 6: 88°C
- Core 7: 86°C
- GPU Utilization: 4% (31°C)

I thought my idle temperatures should be around 39 to 48 degrees C. I applied thermal paste, but maybe I didn't use enough? I'm not really sure what's wrong. Here's my build:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 8-Core Processor
- GPU: Gigabyte Geforce RTX 5070
- Motherboard: B850 Aorus Elite Wifi7
- SSDs: Samsung 870 EVO 1TB and 990 PRO 2TB
- Power Supply: Corsair RM650e

Everything is brand new, and I've updated all drivers. I'm really hoping it's just a cooling issue or something simple like that!

That power usage you mentioned—214.2W—could be your total system load, not specifically for the CPU. But that temperature variance indicates your cooler might not be making good contact. I'd take another look at it and make sure it’s secured properly. Sometimes that fear of overtightening can lead to issues!

Your CPU is running way too hot! It sounds like your cooler might be installed incorrectly or it's just not functioning properly. I'd suggest checking its installation first before looking into other issues.

Have you checked your cooler? If it's an AIO, make sure you removed any plastic stickers. Those are often overlooked! Also, radiator placement is crucial for effective cooling. It can make a big difference.

I have a fan cooler, the Peerless Assassin 120 SE. I'll double check its setup to make sure it’s mounted right!
