Hey everyone! I have a complete build ready for AM4, including a case, motherboard, power supply, GPU, storage, and RAM, but I'm still looking for a CPU. I found a Ryzen 3700X for $80, which would finish that build. However, I also have a new set of 32GB DDR5 6400MHz CL38 RAM that I could use for an AM5 setup. I have another case lying around, and I'd just need to buy a motherboard and CPU for the AM5 build. I spotted a Ryzen 7600X for $100 and a motherboard around the same price. So, which option would you all recommend? Just to clarify, I'm planning to sell parts from one build to fund the other.

You could sell that DDR5 RAM and grab a better AM4 CPU like the 5700X3D, which could end up being a better long-term option. But if you’re set on the 3700X, I'd go for the 7600X instead; the performance jump is just too significant to ignore.
I'd recommend going for the AM5 build. It offers more upgrade options down the line and better gaming performance right away, unless you get an AM4 X3D processor, which would compete with the 7600X.
Since you've got that expensive RAM, it's a good idea to reuse what you can. Sell off the AM4 kit and go with AM5. You’ll see better performance, especially when you decide to upgrade your GPU in a few years.
All signs point to AM5, man! It's a way faster current platform. Just sell off anything you don’t need.
If you're deciding between selling the DDR5 or using it, think about what you want more: if you aim to save money, sell it; if you want to build, definitely use it. Ideally, sell your AM4 components first and aim for AM5, but if it doesn't work out, stick with AM4.

There aren't really any AM4 X3D CPUs at decent prices anymore; they're all overpriced. AMD seems to have stopped making them, so you'll just find old stock at high demand. So yeah, AM5 is definitely the way to go for any new builds.
