I'm thinking about taking advantage of some holiday sales at MicroCenter to upgrade my current PC setup. They have the Ryzen 5 7600X3D and MSI B850 Gaming Pro bundle for $329, as well as the Radeon RX 9070 XT for $579. I'm debating whether it would be smarter to go for a total upgrade or if I should just replace a few components, especially since I'm not in a rush for a new PC. I mainly use it for browsing and gaming, and I just picked up Expedition 33 and Kingdom Come 33. Here's my current build:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 DS3H
- RAM: 16GB
- Video Card: Radeon RX 5700 XT
Thanks for any advice on whether I should upgrade everything or just parts!

I honestly think you should maximize what you can get out of your existing system until it's really holding you back. The 7600X3D and B850 bundle sound appealing, but with RAM prices so high, it might be better to wait. If you're looking to play at 1440p, definitely consider upgrading the GPU, since the 5700 XT is starting to show its age. What’s the wattage on your PSU, and at what resolution do you usually game?
I’d recommend pushing your current setup for 1080p gaming before doing a full upgrade. Prices for components are through the roof right now. You might want to look for used parts as well—sometimes you can find real gems!
Would going for that 9070 XT be worthwhile, though? Maybe I should also boost my RAM to 32GB for better performance?

Yeah, those RAM prices are wild! Any idea why they're so inflated? Also, what GPU do you think would be a good swap? By the way, my PSU is 600W 80+ Gold, and I want to game at 1440p.
