I've been using Linux exclusively on my PC since July and I've really enjoyed it. However, I'm facing a significant problem with my VR headset, the Pico Neo 3. It performs poorly on Linux due to a lack of official support, and the app I use to connect keeps disconnecting and crashing Steam VR. The only viable solution seems to be installing a version of Windows 10, like Tiny10, on my external hard drive. I'm familiar with Windows 10 since I use it on my laptop for Game Maker Studio 2, which also has issues on Linux. I just need access to my Steam library and my drives, which are still NTFS containing about 4.5TB of data. I know this feels like a step away from software freedom, but I really want to enjoy my VR games.

It sounds like a frustrating situation! If you're considering unofficial versions, Tiny10 could work fine for your needs. Just make sure to check compatibility with your VR headset and any essential software you might need. In general, sticking with Windows 10 is safe for gaming, but the lighter versions might help with performance on older machines or external drives.

Yeah, I've heard mixed reviews about Tiny10. It might be worth looking into other lightweight options like Windows 10 LTSC, which is still mainstream but stripped of a lot of bloat. Just ensure you get a legitimate copy!
