My PC Won’t Start After Powering Off with Shift Held Down

I was trying to turn off my PC last night and remembered a tip I saw on TikTok about holding down the shift key while powering off. I did that, but now my PC won't turn on. It just keeps blinking in what my grandfather described as a 1-2 pattern. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, I heard a beeping sound when I was holding shift while powering off. That might be a clue as well, depending on your motherboard. Beeping sounds typically indicate some kind of hardware issue.

Try this: unplug the PC and press the power button a few times. This helps drain the capacitors, which can sometimes fix boot issues. Once you've done that, plug it back in and try turning it on again.

Check your motherboard's fault codes. They can help you figure out what part is causing the boot failure. It’s usually listed in the manual or on the manufacturer's website, so you should be able to find it there.
