Why Can’t I Hear Sound on My New Monitor?

I recently purchased an Acer KG 270 monitor to use with my PS5. There's a button at the back for accessing display settings, but I can't find anything related to volume. Am I missing something in the PS5 settings, or do I need an external sound bar? Any insights would be helpful. Thanks!

Yeah, monitors are mostly for video. Yours likely lacks any audio output ports, which means you can't connect speakers or anything directly to it. If sound is important to you, consider using a TV instead, as they come with both video and audio capabilities.

I thought I saw something that looked like a speaker—maybe it's not what I think?

Most likely, it's just a design feature. Just a heads up, try asking about outputs if you're looking into options for external sound!

Your monitor actually doesn't come with built-in speakers, so there's no volume control available. That's likely why you're not seeing any audio settings—it's purely a display device.

Wait, what? So there's no way to get sound at all?

Exactly! You'll need to connect external speakers or a sound bar to hear audio.
