I'm planning to switch from Windows 11 to a Linux OS because I'm finding Windows increasingly frustrating. As a newbie to Linux, I'm looking for something user-friendly that resembles the Windows desktop environment. It's also crucial that it works seamlessly with my NVIDIA graphics card out of the box. My main activities include gaming, video editing, creating thumbnails, and working with Unreal Engine. What Linux distribution would you suggest that meets these requirements? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you’re into gaming, consider Cachy OS or Bazzite. These distros are focused on gaming and usually include the latest drivers you’ll need. They should work well with your NVIDIA GPU as long as it’s not too old.

I used to have similar needs, and I ended up loving Zorin OS. It looks quite similar to Windows, which made the transition much smoother for me. Plus, it has a decent range of applications available for media editing and gaming.

For stability and ease of use, Fedora is an excellent choice! It's reliable and has a good user interface. However, if you're mainly focused on gaming and video editing, you might want something like Zorin OS or Kubuntu, which are all solid options too.

If you're feeling a bit adventurous and want a more customizable option, try out EndeavorOS. It’s based on Arch, which means you’ll have access to the latest software and drivers. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve!

From my experience, I would recommend Linux Mint. It offers a great out-of-the-box experience and is very beginner-friendly, especially for someone coming from Windows. Plus, it automatically detects NVIDIA graphics and installs the necessary drivers if your card is supported.
