I'm new to building PCs and recently upgraded to an MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 5070 12GB. Previously, I had a 3060ti. Now, I realize I need to replace my current 550w power supply. Should I get a new power supply that's currently on sale, or stick with the 550w PSU? I'd appreciate any advice I can get!

TechPowerUp suggests having at least a 600w power supply for safety, especially since NVIDIA cards can have sudden power spikes. Your 550w PSU might struggle with those. I'd recommend looking for a 750w PSU to avoid having to upgrade again later, especially if you might get a more powerful GPU down the line.
A 650w could work in theory, but for optimal performance, you should aim for around 55-65% of your PSU's capacity. An 850w model is ideal because the price difference isn't huge compared to a good quality 750w, and it helps ensure the longevity of your system. Check out options like the Phanteks AMP GH 850w ATX 3.1 or good Corsair models!
