I'm currently using 16GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM with my old i5 6600K. I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 5800X with an AM4 motherboard for around 250€. I've been holding off because my games run fine at 4K on a 6800XT, but I'm thinking about jumping into newer titles like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring this Christmas. I'm worried that my old RAM might slow down the performance of the 5800X significantly, leading to frame drops. Will I still see a massive performance boost from upgrading from my quad-core setup, even with this slower RAM?

Even with 2400 MHz RAM, switching to the 5800X will greatly enhance your gaming experience, especially compared to the i5 6600K. While you might get slightly lower FPS than if you had faster RAM, you shouldn't experience lag or stutter. It’s definitely worth it for that price, and you'll notice a big performance jump!

That’s great to hear! Just wanted to be sure I wouldn’t be bottlenecked too much.
