Is My First PC Build Good Enough for VR with Quest 2 and Running Shaders?

I'm a first-time builder, and after some research, I've put together a potential build. I'm looking for feedback on whether these specs will be good for running VR Link with my Quest 2 and using shaders in games like Minecraft and Ultrakill. My current setup includes an i5-10500h CPU, a 1650 (with max-q variant), and two SSDs—one being a 2TB SATA drive and the other a 240GB NVMe. I'm not aiming for high-end gaming, just solid performance with older games and VR capabilities since my current GPU isn't compatible with VR Link. My build consists of an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, an Intel Arc B580 GPU, and some other components totaling around $1,011.84. I also plan to reuse my 2TB SSD for Windows and keep games there for easier access. What do you all think? Can this setup handle my needs, and are there better deals I should look for?

Just a heads up, Intel ARC GPUs have had varying driver support for VR, which might be a concern if that's a priority for you. If you're mainly focused on older titles, you might be fine, but it's worth keeping an eye on driver updates as they could improve over time. Also, consider checking out some benchmarks to see how the B580 performs in games you want to play.

I've read mixed reviews about the Intel Arc series too. Just make sure to keep track of driver updates. It could change the game for VR performance!

For your case, make sure to get one with good airflow—it’s crucial for keeping everything cool. You don’t need the biggest case, but ensure there’s enough space for your components and decent cooling options. Look for cases that have at least one or two case fans included for better airflow. And don't forget that organizing your cables well can help with airflow too!

Absolutely! A well-ventilated case makes all the difference. I went with one that had good airflow and I can't complain.
