Should I Get a $1000 Gaming PC or a PS5 Pro for Christmas?

I'm considering treating myself to a new gaming setup for Christmas and I'm stuck between getting a $1000 gaming PC or a PS5 Pro. I love the flexibility of a PC for things like 3D modeling and animating, but I've heard that RAM and SSD prices are through the roof right now. I'm also aware that I'll need to get a monitor and keyboard separately. My biggest concern is whether a $1000 PC would outperform or at least match a PS5 Pro. Any advice?

Yes, a $1000 PC can indeed be better, but you'll want to buy now since prices might continue to rise. If you're mainly interested in gaming at 1080p or 1440p, you can get solid performance out of that budget. Just be sure to do some research on the GPU to get the best FPS.

I'm mostly gaming at 1080p right now, but I'm considering moving to 1440p in the future. Sounds like that might work well for me!

You can actually connect a PC to any TV that has an HDMI port, so you don't necessarily need a monitor if you're on a budget! That could help save some cash on your setup.

Price isn't everything. There are definitely $1000 builds that might not match a base PS5 in performance. You might want to check out prebuilt options as well; they can sometimes give better value right now due to skyrocketing RAM prices.

Absolutely, a $1000 PC can definitely compete with the PS5 Pro, but it really depends on the components you choose. If you're looking at an AM4 build, it should outperform the PS5 easily. Just keep an eye on RAM and SSD prices, as they're high at the moment.
