I just received a strange entry on my Google Calendar that says I have an automatic payment of $489.99 going out in 12 hours. The details mention it's a PayPal payment for a McAfee+ Ultimate subscription. I'm wondering if anyone can help me with two things: first, how can I figure out which account this payment is coming from? Second, what level of hacking is this? Is my Google account compromised?

You're right to be cautious! It's likely just a spam email that included a calendar invite. Some scammers send these fake invoices with calendar reminders attached. Just avoid any links and keep an eye on your accounts.
It's tricky! Sometimes scammers can sneak a calendar invite through, especially if they use certain email tricks. It might be possible they just added a calendar appointment along with the email about the fake bill.
This looks like just another phishing scam trying to grab your info. These fake calendar invites are going around, and the best thing to do is not click on any links in them. You can report it as phishing if you want.
