I just arrived in Hawaii yesterday, and after a good night's sleep, I woke up to find my iPhone 15 screen barely responsive. I managed to do a volume up and down reset to get it to power off, but now I can't get it to work beyond that. I know there's no water damage, and I've never experienced this issue before. I really need my phone for GPS while hiking today! What can I do to fix it?

If you can't get it to restart, your best bet might be to take it to an Apple Store. It’s frustrating, especially if you’re in an area without one, but they can help diagnose the issue for you.
Do you have an Apple Watch with cellular service? You could use that with the Waypoints feature for your hike! It might help as a backup if your phone isn’t working right now.
Nope, I don't have an Apple Watch. I think I'll have to skip my hike this morning and head to a phone repair store when they open.
Have you tried doing the soft reset again? Instead of using the slider, press volume up and then down, and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the Apple logo. Sometimes this can trigger a better restart.
I've never done it that way, but it could be worth a shot. Typically, just restarting works for me!

I can do a soft restart, but the screen still won't respond enough for me to unlock it. There's no Apple Store in Kona, and I'm really upset about it!
