What’s a Good Budget CPU to Pair with a 7900 XTX?

My old CPU broke, and I'm in need of a replacement for both work and gaming. I have a secondary CPU, but I can't access it right now, so I'm looking for a decent temporary solution. I plan to give the new CPU to a friend later when I upgrade. I need recommendations for an AMD CPU that's capable enough to pair with my 7900 XTX and also works well with my 34-inch 1440p monitor. My motherboard is an MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi, and I'm hoping to find a solid mid-range option for now.

Since you have the MSI B650 and you're on the AM5 platform, I'd say the 7800X3D would be an excellent choice for you. It's powerful enough to handle your setup and should give you a great balance between performance and price. Plus, it won't bottleneck your 7900 XTX, so you should be good to go!

What’s your primary goal? You mentioned you want something that'll sustain around 120 FPS without breaking the bank. If you don’t have a strict budget, the 9800X3D is top-tier, but the 7800X3D is a fantastic option at a better price point. If you're just looking for something to use temporarily until you can upgrade, either of those will serve you well in 1440p.

I'm mostly just looking for something I can use temporarily until I swap in my better CPU. I don't have a specific budget, but I'm aiming for something close to the performance of a 7600X3D. I usually play at native resolution and I'm hoping for around 120 FPS.
