Can My PC Handle Gaming at 1440p on Medium-High Settings?

Hey everyone! I'm currently gaming at 1080p with a 60Hz refresh rate, but I'm looking to make the jump to 1440p with a 180Hz display. Here are my current specs:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- **GPU:** AMD Radeon Rx 5700-XT
- **RAM:** 16GB DDR4

I play a mix of new and older titles, mainly games like Elden Ring, Fallout, and Halo. I've also tackled some graphics-heavy games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Helldivers, and Space Marine 2. I'm planning to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU soon, and possibly a better GPU later on, but I'm avoiding the AM5 upgrade path due to the cost of new RAM and a motherboard.

Does anyone have a similar setup that can share their experience?

What motherboard are you using? Sometimes that can impact performance if you're considering future upgrades. Also, your current GPU should handle most games at medium settings without a problem, especially if you're planning to boost your CPU later on!

I've got an Asus Prime A320.

Hey! I think you'll be in good shape for 1440p gaming. I played Elden Ring at max settings (aside from ray tracing) on my GTX 1080 and an older i5, and it stayed pretty stable at 60 fps. The game's really well-optimized, so for other older titles, you should do just fine too!

That's cool! But what about Red Dead Redemption 2 or Helldivers? Those seem quite demanding.
