I'm planning to upgrade my new gaming PC with more storage. I currently have a 1TB SSD, but I'm already halfway full after downloading five games. I don't see a second M.2 slot on my motherboard; I'm still learning about PCs, so I could be missing something. I'm considering adding a Samsung 2TB SATA SSD for game storage and a 4TB HDD for other files, like backups for my security cameras. How well do SATA drives perform for gaming? I primarily play AAA titles like Battlefield 6.

If you’re leaning towards a Samsung SATA SSD, they’re solid picks. You might see load times about 10% slower compared to M.2 options. But if you choose other brands, you could run into issues where their speeds barely surpass a traditional HDD. So go for the Samsung!
A SATA SSD will work just fine for gaming! I've got a couple, and they perform well enough for AAA games.
Before deciding on the drives, what motherboard are you using? It might have more M.2 slots than you think! Knowing that can help to see if there's room for expansion.
Just found out it’s a B650 WiFi motherboard; seems like you have at least three M.2 slots!

I have no idea, but it's a pre-built from iBuyPower. I know it's an Asus board.
