I'm based in Argentina and my son currently plays Fortnite on his PlayStation, but he wants to switch to a PC to play with his friends. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I need some guidance. I've been looking into options on different websites, like PCPartPicker and PerfectPC, where I can see compatibility and get recommendations for builds. Here are the links to the builds I've created:

**PCPartPicker**: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GVTqxg](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GVTqxg)
**PerfectPC**: [https://perfect-pc.vercel.app/en/builder/results?games=fortnite&resolution=1080p&fps=60&quality=High&rayTracing=false&usageType=pure-gaming&storagePreference=balanced&noisePreference=balanced&rgbPreference=minimal&coolerType=air&cpuBrands=&gpuBrands=](https://perfect-pc.vercel.app/en/builder/results?games=fortnite&resolution=1080p&fps=60&quality=High&rayTracing=false&usageType=pure-gaming&storagePreference=balanced&noisePreference=balanced&rgbPreference=minimal&coolerType=air&cpuBrands=&gpuBrands=)

Could you take a look at these builds and let me know if they're good? Or can you help me build a decent one that fits a mid-range budget? Thanks for your help!

You don't need such a huge hard drive, especially for just booting and playing games. I'd suggest going for 1TB SSD, which is optimal for Fortnite. NVMe SSDs are faster, but if you're looking to save, a 2.5 SATA SSD will do just fine. You can always get a second SSD later if your son wants to explore bigger titles.

Yeah, keep an eye on prices though. RAM is pricey right now, so a pre-built setup could save you some cash.

Here's a solid build example for you: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pmTqxg](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pmTqxg). Just make sure you get a PSU over 600W with gold certification to keep it efficient. Let me know if you need any more help!

Based on my setup, you don't need too much power to play Fortnite. I have an i3-13100 with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a GTX 1080. I built it for just over $100 and it's more than capable. Keep an eye out for used monitors; you can snag one cheap too!

You can actually use a keyboard and mouse with your PS4 or PS5 for Fortnite. The PC version offers better graphics and the ability to customize settings to enhance your gaming experience, which could be a big plus!

I would recommend checking out pre-built options right now. They can deliver more value for your money considering current RAM prices. It's a good time to buy with many old stock deals available, but they might change soon as new inventory comes in.
