I'm wondering if someone may have snooped on my Lenovo laptop while I was out from about 3:00 to 5:00 PM. I've looked into the Windows Event Viewer to check the boot history and saw some log entries. It shows my system did boot at 1 AM and 3 AM, but there were no logs for the recent period. One entry that stood out was for 4:48 PM today: "The system is exiting Modern Standby. Reason: Power Button." Does this indicate someone turned on my laptop, or could it be an automatic process from Windows? Am I being overly paranoid? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like someone might have powered on your laptop, especially since there’s an entry indicating it exited Modern Standby at that time. If your laptop has a password, that would generally protect it from unauthorized access, but laptops can also wake up to perform routine tasks like updates or scans. If you want to stop it from waking up automatically, you can adjust some settings in the control panel.
Yeah, someone could have turned your PC on manually. If it was asleep, it can wake for various tasks, but the power button event suggests a human touch. Always worth checking the date and time of logs to see if they align with when that person was there.

Thanks for the input! I do have a password, so I feel a bit better. I’ll definitely check those settings.
