Upgrading from a 1080 Ti: Seeking GPU Recommendations

Hey everyone! My beloved 1080 Ti has finally kicked the bucket after 8 years, and I'm looking to upgrade my setup. I'm thinking about getting a 5080, but I'm a bit unsure about which brand to go with since I typically stick to what I know. Is there a specific reason to favor one brand over another? I'd like to keep the budget around £2K, though I might want to invest more to get a stronger GPU and motherboard. I'm considering sticking with my current SSD, but I've heard that using a Gen5 M.2 drive could boost performance significantly. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, I'd recommend going all AMD at this point. If your main goal is longevity, consider a B series motherboard unless you have a specific need for the X series. The newer features might not be essential right now, but they could be handy later on!

Any recommendations on a good motherboard? I liked the idea of the X870 for future-proofing with USB4 and WiFi 7.
