I'm really struggling here and could use some guidance. I'm not very tech-savvy at all, and I've tried Googling for solutions but I'm still lost. I downloaded 7zip, but I don't know how to use it properly. I'm trying to extract a game file, but I keep getting the error 0x80010135: Path too long. This has happened a bunch of times before with different games, but this particular file is larger, so I think that might be the issue. I'm willing to try anything to fix this!

I faced a similar error and Long Path Tool solved it for me.
It sounds like the file path might just be too long because it's nested in a lot of folders or maybe the folder names are lengthy. Windows does have a limit on path lengths, though I can't recall the exact number. When you have 7Zip installed, you should be able to right-click on the file and see it in your context menu. If you're using Windows 11, try right-clicking and looking for 'More options' to see if 7Zip shows up there. If it still doesn’t, we may need to troubleshoot further.
If you're seeing options like Open, Cut, and Delete but not 7Zip, it might not be fully integrated into your Windows Explorer. You can also try moving the file to a shorter path, like your desktop, and then see if you can extract it from there. Sometimes that can help bypass the error if the original path is too lengthy.
