Why is my chassis fan stuck at max speed?

I recently built a PC with an ASUS TUF GAMING 650E-E Wifi motherboard and AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, and it was running smoothly for a couple of weeks. However, the chassis fans are now stuck at max speed. I've already updated all drivers and the BIOS, and tried adjusting the fan settings in the BIOS without any luck. When I checked the ASUS Armoury Crate software, it shows a constant 991 RPM speed for the chassis fans, which seems to indicate that they're always running at max speed and I can't change it. The CPU fan settings, on the other hand, display a normal RPM range from 0 to 100%. I'm really out of ideas on how to fix this issue; any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you can’t adjust fan speeds in the UEFI, that indicates something might be off. Are you certain you applied and saved the changes correctly? If you did and nothing happens, then it's likely a deeper issue.

It sounds like Armoury Crate might be causing issues. It's known to mess with fan control settings, so I'd recommend uninstalling it. Instead, try using FanControl to set your desired fan speeds and curves. Also, double-check that your chipset drivers are up to date, as that could definitely impact fan behavior.

I’d say check your BIOS settings again just to be sure. Sometimes it’s easy to miss a toggle or option. Make sure you’re on the latest BIOS version too; manufacturers often fix bugs related to fan control in updates.
