Why is my high-end PC suddenly getting super slow and unresponsive?

Hey folks! I've been having some major issues with my high-end PC that I bought in August 2024. Starting from the end of January, it randomly becomes incredibly slow, to the point where I can hardly do anything. I can only move the cursor and can't type or open apps. It happens in both gaming and casual browsing situations. If I try to restart by holding the power button, it gets stuck in an infinite loop of "Preparing Automatic Repair." The only way to turn it off is by using the PSU's power switch, which isn't ideal. Here are my specs: an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU, an Asus TUF Gaming X670E-Plus WiFi motherboard, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, a 2TB NVMe SSD, and an 850W PSU. I noticed in Task Manager during these freezes that my SSD usage spikes to 100%, while CPU is just around 2% and RAM at 9%. I'm really out of ideas, so any suggestions would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!

I tried the BIOS update using AMD's Armoury Crate, but no new drivers were launched since my last update in March, and the freezing issue still persists. I haven’t tried updating the BIOS directly or the network card yet, but I’m going to look into those options. Thanks for the help!

You might want to flash your BIOS if there's a new version available. Updating chipset drivers and other related software is also crucial since manufacturers often release updates to fix issues. Be patient, as it might take time for all drivers to stabilize after an update.

Just a heads-up! Always make sure your data is backed up before you mess with BIOS or disk setups. It might save you a lot of headaches later on!
