Hey everyone! I'm looking to add a second monitor to my current setup, which includes a 32-inch curved monitor with a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate of 180Hz. I'm mainly going to use the new monitor for casual stuff like watching YouTube, browsing, and using apps like Discord and Spotify. I initially wanted to buy the same monitor I have, but it's no longer available. I've heard that mixing different resolutions can lead to issues with a dual-screen setup, so I'm thinking about sticking with 1440p. Should I go for a monitor with a refresh rate of 75Hz, 120Hz, or try to find another 180Hz? I've been told that different refresh rates might negatively affect the main monitor's performance. For connections, I'm planning to use DisplayPort for both monitors, and my graphics card is a 9070xt. I'd appreciate any suggestions! Thanks! 🙂

I've been using DecoGear 1440p curved monitors for a couple of years now, and they're solid. I'm running three of them in Eyefinity, and they perform well even with a mid-range card. If you can find them for around $350, they're worth it!
I'd recommend trying to get a monitor that matches your current one for consistency. If that's not possible, consider getting a couple of flat monitors to complement your curved setup. Just keep in mind that having different sizes might disrupt your workflow a bit, depending on what you do.
If you're thinking of going with flat screens, how about using one vertical flat screen? Or maybe one flat on each side—like a 24 or 27 inch. Just wondering if that would make transitioning between screens smoother!
A flat as your main with the curved on the right sounds cool! It could be neat to balance them out that way, but it might feel a bit off having different types. Just think about your desk space! Haha.
I usually go for a cheaper second monitor since it just runs my Discord or Spotify anyway. Right now, I've got a 1080p 60Hz monitor from work as my second, and it gets the job done just fine!
Thanks for the tip! Do you think a flat could work as a main screen with a curved one next to it? I'm tight on desk space, or else I'd go for three curves!
