I've noticed a troubling pattern over the years with Dell servers where the iDRACs seem to fail quite frequently. We've experienced this issue with models like the R410, R610, R620, and R730. Interestingly, the R40 series doesn't seem to have the same problems yet—perhaps they just haven't been around long enough to show issues. Does anyone have insights on why these components might fail after several years of use?

I've worked with iDRACs for about 20 years, and out of the thousands I've managed, I've never seen one fail. You might just have had some bad luck, or it could be an environmental issue. I mean, if your server room is next to an industrial furnace, that could definitely cause problems!
