I've been having issues with my PC, and after some troubleshooting, I believe my Ryzen 7 5800X has given up the ghost. It's been powering on and off erratically and has left me feeling less than impressed with its gaming performance lately. I do have a DDR5 32GB 6000MHz kit that I can use. Given that I'm worried about the value of a 7800X3D with new Zen CPUs coming next year, I'm considering either the 7500X3D or 7600X3D for a more immediate upgrade. What do you think would be the best choice? Here's a quick look at the current CPU prices in the Netherlands:
- 9800X3D: €449
- 7800X3D: €369
- 7600X3D: €259
- 7500X3D: €229
- 5800X: €170
Also, as an update, my PC did manage to boot after some time powered off, but I'm still not convinced the CPU is reliable anymore. Any thoughts?

Have you tried removing the CMOS battery and putting it back? Sometimes that's all it takes to fix issues, especially if it's related to RAM configs. By the way, what kind of GPU are you using? It can make a difference in performance too!
First things first, are you completely sure your CPU is dead? If your motherboard has diagnostic LEDs or a digital readout, that could really help you confirm the issue. I once thought my Ryzen 5 3600 was done for due to weird shutdowns, but it turned out I just needed to reset the RAM overclock settings! After a few days, it magically booted up again. So maybe double-check everything before deciding to replace it. But if you do need a new CPU, I went with a 7500X3D for my build while keeping costs down, and I’m quite happy with it!
I get what you're saying! I might have overlooked the motherboard indicators too; good point about the RAM profiles. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I think it's a bit faulty logic to worry about waiting for new CPUs if you really need a machine now. If you're in a pinch, just grab a 7800X3D or even the 7600X3D - they're both solid choices for gaming right now. Don’t stress too much about upcoming releases; you can always upgrade again later if needed!
Exactly, sometimes it's just better to pull the trigger and enjoy the performance instead of waiting around!
You're right, so I might end up going this route. Appreciate the input!
If you’re just looking to get back to gaming without breaking the bank, consider going for a cheaper option like the 7600. It’s similar in performance to the 5800X3D and will serve you well for now. But if your budget allows, I'd recommend going for the 7800X3D long-term investment!

I'm running an RX 6800XT at 1440p, 3440x1440 @ 144Hz. That's why I'm eager for a decent CPU to keep up!
