Why Does My Audio Become Muffled When Using Headphones?

I'm facing an issue where the audio sounds perfectly fine on my HP laptop until I connect my headphones or earphones. Once I put them on, the audio becomes really muffled. I've tried a couple of fixes like turning off microphone permissions for both my headphones and earphones, and even did a full Windows reset. Unfortunately, nothing seems to have worked. For reference, I'm using an HP laptop model 15-fc0xxx with an AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor, 16GB of RAM, and my Windows version is Windows 11 25H2.

Are your headphones or earphones Bluetooth? Sometimes, Bluetooth audio can get a bit weird if there are connection issues or if the drivers aren't up to date. It might be worth checking if there’s a firmware update available for your headphones or just trying a wired connection to see if it solves the problem.

It sounds like your headphones and earphones were fine before upgrading to Windows 11, right? If that's the case, it might be an issue with how Windows 11 handles audio devices. You could try updating your audio drivers or rolling back to an earlier version to see if that helps. Sometimes new updates can cause conflicts with certain hardware.
