How Does Firewall as a Service Work?

I'm trying to wrap my head around Firewall as a Service (FWaaS). I regularly build and maintain firewalls for my Managed Service Provider, but now I've been told to consider transitioning as we're looking to get rid of our office space. This means I need to move our firewall capacity to a data center while maintaining our static IP, which is crucial because it's configured into all our customer firewalls as an exception. So, how does FWaaS work in practice? Where do I connect my network cable? Is there a specific device like a router that lets me communicate with the cloud? I'm just a bit lost on the implementation and want to be prepared before vendor demos next week.

For FWaaS, your internet will actually be routed to where the service is hosted, typically in a data center. You'll likely set up either a site-to-site VPN or utilize client VPN solutions. The key is to connect your existing network through these secure tunnels to the FWaaS provider’s endpoint.
