Which GPUs can a 5800X3D handle without bottlenecking?

I'm curious about the limitations of the 5800X3D CPU. What would be the best GPU to pair with it at 1080p or 1440p without running into bottlenecking issues?

I've been gaming at 1440p with a 5800X3D and a 3090 Ti, and it runs super smoothly! It's also worth mentioning that games like Total War or Far Cry could expose some limitations. But for the most part, if you're at 1440p or higher, you should be in good shape.

Bottlenecks can get pretty overhyped. It really depends on the software. I see minimal FPS change going from 1080p to 4K in some CPU-bound games. Don’t stress too much about pairing your CPU and GPU; just pick what matches your gaming habits!

Most GPUs will work fine with the 5800X3D, but it really hinges on the game you're playing. For instance, older titles or those that are single-threaded might still bottleneck. On the flip side, newer titles are generally more optimized. So, I’d say the 5800X3D should handle anything paired with it, but the game's nature influences performance.

Honestly, you might find bottlenecking issues depending on what you play. GPUs up to 5070 or 5070Ti should serve you well, especially at 1440p. Just remember, the load is often determined by the game's optimization, so results may vary.

At 1080p, virtually all GPUs will face some level of bottleneck, especially with demanding games. A 5090 would pair nicely at 4K, but for 1440p, something like a 5070 Ti or 9070XT would be great options with a 5800X3D. Just keep in mind, as the GPU power increases, you may see minor performance dips depending on the game.
