I'm looking for some suggestions on selecting my next CPU. I primarily use my PC for Blender (mainly for creating and editing STL files, without focusing on rendering), digital audio workstation (DAW) software for music production with a strong emphasis on audio latency performance, and slicer software for 3D printing. I was considering the Intel 14900K, but I've heard it has issues with power consumption and heat, and I prefer to use air cooling. I'm aiming for a high-end CPU since my last PC lasted a decade, and I hope this one will do the same. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I recently built a rig with an Intel Ultra7 265K and 96GB of RAM. It’s performing well for 4K multi-cam editing and stays around 45°C with a Noctua NHD15S cooler. I upgraded from a 12-year-old 4790K, and the difference is huge!
I feel you! I have a 5820K and a GTX 970, and while they're still running, they can't handle the newer 3D slicers anymore.
The 9950X3D is a solid choice and should last you a long time! It's designed for high workloads and can handle your applications really well.
Not so sure about that! Seems a bit too optimistic.
What does 'high-end' mean to you? How much are you willing to invest? For example, it's easy to recommend a 9950X3D, but it might not be what you had in mind for your budget.
Wow, your old setup was impressive! The i7 from that generation held up remarkably well!
