Why Did My SD Card Storage Drop Without Losing Files?

I recently noticed a significant drop in available storage on my SD card for my Samsung AO3s, going from 8.32 gigs to 8.07 gigs. I've double-checked and confirmed that my photo count hasn't really changed, as I took a screenshot prior to the drop. I'm wondering what could cause this loss of space. Is it possible that the system is just rearranging files? I keep app cache on the internal storage, so I doubt that's the issue. Should I be concerned about this?

That loss of space may not be as alarming as it seems. Are you checking the available storage or the total capacity? Sometimes, systems report slightly different values due to file system adjustments. If it's just a small difference, it might just be normal fluctuations.

I found that 300 megabytes were actually freed up. So maybe it was something like a temporary file being cleared?

I did some digging and compared my last backup to my SD card's current contents. Interestingly, I found all my videos intact, and I even have about 50 more photos now. It's puzzling why space was freed. Just keep an eye on it!
