I've been wondering if there's any chance RAM prices will finally drop a bit in the coming months. I know we're not going back to the old prices any time soon, but I feel like the current situation isn't exactly great for retailers. If RAM is costing as much as a decent CPU, that can't be good for sales on other components either. Maybe once the panic buying settles down, we'll see prices, say, closer to 2-3 times the prices before the recent spike instead of the current 4x+? I'm hesitant to commit to my PC build at these high prices, but my aging 1070 isn't going to last forever!

Since more AI companies are dominating the market, unless manufacturers can meet the increased demand without compromising consumer supply, we probably won't see any decrease in RAM prices for the foreseeable future. Stability is what we might get, but don't count on prices dropping anytime soon.
Most folks are saying that the prices are likely to go up in the short term until demand drops off. The AI market is still gobbling up RAM, so don't expect a quick fix.
I checked my crystal ball for insights and it says ‘maybe.’ It's really anyone's guess at this point!
Mine said, 'Have you tried turning it off and on again?' Classic!
I don't think RAM prices will ever return to what they were before. It's a new normal now with everyone racing to stock up, especially AI companies. Expect prices to stay high for quite a while, possibly even up to a year before any real changes.
I went ahead and bought my RAM rather than gamble on prices dropping later. Things are unpredictable, and I didn’t want to get stuck waiting and dealing with stock issues later on. Most people seem to think prices won't drop significantly for a while, if at all. Better to snag it now, I think!
Same here. I wasn't panicking; I just wanted to get my build going rather than waiting on uncertain pricing.

Yeah, if AI companies are still buying up all the stock, it could be a while before consumers see any relief.
