I recently upgraded from an iPhone 13 to an iPhone 17, and I've been trying to set it up for the past two days without success. I've tried everything: automatic and manual setup, data transfer from another device, and even transferring from iCloud (which I have enough space for since I pay for it). However, every time I attempt to transfer data, it gets stuck for hours or asks me to factory reset the phone, which I've done over 15 times already. I'm not completely tech illiterate, but I'm feeling really frustrated. I purchased my phone from an authorized retailer, so I don't think it's a scam. Is there something I'm missing?

Just to add to what others said, I've found transferring from another phone is usually a lot quicker than using iCloud. If you're able to borrow a friend's phone for the transfer, it could save you a ton of hassle!
It sounds super frustrating! Have you tried using the USB-to-USB cable that came in the box instead of Bluetooth? I had a similar issue, and once I switched to the cable, it went smoothly and was done in about an hour.
If you're still stuck, taking it to an Apple Genius Bar or your retailer could be the best option. They might be able to spot any issues. I know it sucks to do that, especially since your phone is essential for everything!
