Help! My Google Pixel Gallery Lost Hundreds of Photos

I'm using a Google Pixel 8 Pro, and suddenly, I've noticed that a few hundred photos from my gallery have disappeared! I didn't delete anything, but it seems like there's a huge gap where all my screenshots, downloads, and other photos from August and September used to be. I've restarted my phone and the app multiple times, and I have all the updates installed. I make a lot of screenshots for reference, and now they're just gone! I've followed all the instructions I could find from Google, but nothing has worked. Is there any other way I can recover these missing pictures?

That sounds really frustrating! If you didn't have those photos backed up, they might be lost for good. But first, check if there's a trash or recently deleted folder in your gallery app. Also, try logging into Google Photos via a web browser to see if they got uploaded there automatically. Pixels usually back up photos by default unless the setting was turned off.

I did check the trash and even looked in Google Photos online, but no luck. I turned off uploading to Google Drive because I was running out of space. That's probably why they're not in there.
