I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3500 processor, and I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5800X. However, I've heard that transitioning to AM5 might be a better option in the long run. My graphics card is an RTX 2060 Super. What do you think: should I upgrade to the 5800X, or is the AM5 upgrade the way to go?

Honestly, upgrading to AM5 doesn't seem like a great idea right now due to the high RAM prices. If you're looking for a straightforward upgrade, I’d stick with AM4 and go for the 5800X. It's a solid choice and will serve you well for the foreseeable future.

If you can find the 5800X at a good price, and you're okay with your current motherboard, go for it. But consider the 5700X as well if you're looking for a balance of performance and cost. Think about what games you'll be playing, too. If you're into AAA titles, the 5800X will definitely help.

Upgrading to the 5800X sounds like a good decision! You'll definitely see a performance boost, especially if you're into CPU-heavy games like Counter-Strike or Valorant. I went from a lesser CPU to a better one, and my frame rates practically doubled with my RTX card. Just make sure your motherboard is solid enough to handle the upgrade.
