Help! My Linux Won’t Boot After Installation

A few days ago, I successfully installed Linux, but now it won't boot properly. When I power it up, it shows the Linux Mint logo, but my computer shuts down after a few seconds. I can boot into Linux in compatibility mode, but I'm looking for a fix to get it running normally. Any suggestions?

Try tapping the escape key when you see the Mint logo. That should show you more detailed bootup messages. You might spot an error that explains why it's failing. If the output is confusing, snap a picture with your phone and share it here so we can help you figure it out!

Okay, I'll give that a shot!

If it shuts down before you can see anything, maybe you could get a friend to help or try it multiple times. It’s usually a process, but don’t give up!

What are your system specs? Might help to know more about your hardware. Sometimes specific models have quirks when running Linux.

I think it's an Inspiron 15 3878 with DDR3L RAM.
