I just got a new Dell laptop, and I noticed it only has a single local disk (C drive) with no other partitions to store my files. I'm wondering if it's okay to just save everything on the C drive, or if I should create a new D partition for better organization. I also checked the specs, and it mentions having an NVMe 2550 Micron 1024 GB drive, but I'm not quite sure what that means in terms of storage. What do you all recommend?

You don't really need to make partitions. Just keep everything on C. What you have is a 1 terabyte SSD. That's enough for tons of applications and games. If you're thinking ahead, consider external drives or even optical discs for super long-term storage, though that might be a bit overkill for most.
Definitely just use the C drive for now. Consider syncing important documents to cloud services like Google Drive or OneDrive so you don’t lose anything in case of an issue.
By the way, a gigabyte is about 1 billion bytes, and you've got 1000 gigabytes which equals a terabyte. Your C drive has plenty of space for your stuff, so no worries there!
Honestly, creating a separate data partition is a bit outdated. Most users today stick to a single partition without issues. Just enjoy your space as it is!
You’ve got a 1 terabyte SSD, so you have plenty of room for your files. If you find you need extra storage later, look into cloud options or external hard drives. You're good for now!
It's totally fine to just use the C drive for all your files. Just make sure you keep backups of your important documents in case anything happens.

I still think it makes sense if you plan to reformat often or need to share files between different operating systems, but for most average users, keeping it simple with one partition works well.
