Hey everyone! I'm really considering switching to Linux because I can't stand Windows 11 anymore, especially with the forced installation of Copilot. I've been using Windows since I got my first computer, but I did try installing Linux on an old Optiplex once to turn it into a media station; I experimented with a couple of distros, but neither worked out perfectly. I regularly play games like Dota 2, Monster Hunter: World, Street Fighter 6, and some lighter games like Hades and Silksong. I also do quite a lot of work on Adobe and Affinity, as I'm trying to move away from Adobe. I read that Affinity can run well on Linux using Wine, which is great. Can anyone recommend good guides on choosing a distro, understanding how the Linux environment works, and setting things up? By the way, I'm fluent enough in English, but it is not my first language. Also, can I dual boot on two different drives so I can keep Windows while I learn Linux? Just to give you some context, I have an RTX 2070, an i5 12600K, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Thanks a lot for your help! ❤️

I switched to Linux Mint about a month ago, and it's been pretty smooth with just a few minor issues that I sorted out through some research. For distros, I’d recommend trying these: 1. **Linux Mint** (it's reliable and has a solid Cinnamon environment). 2. **CachyOS** (an Arch-based distro that's super popular and designed for gaming; don’t worry, the terminal isn't too complicated). 3. **Nobara** (based on Fedora, created by the developer of Proton-GE, and great for gaming). You can dual boot with Linux on the same hard drive as Windows, allowing you to test these distros before fully committing. When you do switch to Linux, remember to format your drives to the ext4 format!

I’ve heard good things about Mint and CachyOS too! They seem user-friendly. Which one did you decide on? Did you face any issues with games that aren't natively supported on Linux?
