I recently went to a cafe to get some work done but left my phone at home to minimize distractions. Now, I'm trying to sign in to my Microsoft account to access Blackboard, but it keeps asking for the Microsoft Authenticator app on my phone. I tried selecting the option for 'I don't have access right now,' but it just brings me back to the same sign-in page asking for the Authenticator. Is there a workaround for this situation, or should I just head back home?

Totally get it! While two-factor authentication is important for security, it can definitely be a pain when you forget your phone. Unfortunately, if there's a way around it, it would pretty much defeat the purpose of having that extra layer of security.
Yep, you're out of luck for now. They designed it this way on purpose to keep unauthorized users out. Maybe in the future, they’ll add more options for authentication devices, like YubiKeys, but you have to be logged in to set those up first. Just a bummer for this trip!
Unfortunately, there’s really no workaround for this. The whole point of two-factor authentication is to keep your account secure, and without access to your phone, you're kind of stuck. It's frustrating, I know!
Looks like you'll have to pack it up and head home. I get how inconvenient this can be, but it's one of those security measures that ultimately helps keep your account safe. Maybe report this as feedback so they can consider better options in the future.

Right? I just wish there was a more user-friendly solution for situations like this.
