I've been using Windows since I was a kid, starting with Windows 7 and later upgrading to Windows 10. After struggling with Windows 10 for about four years, I'm fed up with Microsoft and ready to switch to Linux Mint. Can anyone guide me on how to completely remove Windows from my computer?

Zorin OS is also a fantastic choice if you're looking for a user-friendly alternative to Windows. During the Linux installation, just format your hard drive, and that will wipe Windows clean and install Linux.

Just a heads up: changing operating systems can be a bit of a journey, especially if you're not familiar with computers. Dual booting might sound harmless, but it can be pretty annoying having to choose at startup. I recommend getting a USB drive with Linux on it. This way, you can test it out without making permanent changes. If it doesn't work for you, you can easily dispose of the USB stick.

One option is to dual boot for the first month, just in case you need Windows for software that doesn't run on Linux, like certain games or Adobe programs. But if you're confident you won't need it, you can create a Linux Mint live USB. Set your UEFI/BIOS to boot from USB, reboot your PC, and you'll be able to install Mint directly from there. The installer will give you options to either install it alongside Windows or replace it entirely.

Switching to Linux usually means you replace Windows completely. You'll want to create a bootable USB with your Linux distribution of choice. Once you boot from the USB, you can choose to install it, which will erase your existing Windows installation.
