Hey everyone! I hope I'm posting in the right place; if not, feel free to redirect me. I've been experiencing some strange issues with my home internet after moving into a new place and having AT&T fiber installed about six weeks ago. Today, while trying to connect to Bluetooth, I accidentally clicked on WiFi and got this privacy warning on my home network, indicating that it's blocking encrypted DNS traffic. I'm not very tech-savvy and I'm a bit confused about what this all means. Is this something serious? Should I be worried, or is there something I need to do? For context, I'm using an iPhone 12. Thanks in advance for any help!

That warning might be popping up due to a service like an ad blocker or a content filter that your network is using. I actually get that warning on my own setup because I use Pihole to block ads. If you're really concerned about privacy, consider using a VPN, but if you’re not facing any issues, it could just be a quirk of your system.
Honestly, it sounds like more of a warning than a real problem. You're probably just seeing this because of something specific to your network setup. If you’re not facing major problems accessing sites, it’s likely not a cause for concern. My suggestion is to keep an eye on it and maybe look into it deeper only if more issues come up.
You don't need to stress too much about that warning. Encrypted DNS isn't super common yet, and unencrypted DNS usually works just fine for most people. So, there's likely no big issue here! You might be okay just as you are, but if it helps, you can check your settings to see if everything else is set up correctly.
Thanks for the insight! I'm not overly worried, just puzzled since my husband and I don't run anything. I can't use a VPN for work, but I've definitely noticed issues with browsers complaining about unsecured connections in the past.
