Can a GT 1030 Handle a 144Hz Monitor?

Hey everyone! My monitor broke after 7 years, which was a total bummer since it fell thanks to my brother. I'm looking into getting an Acer Nitro VG240Y X1BMIIPX, which has a 200Hz refresh rate, but I'm not sure if my GPU, the GT 1030, can even manage 120Hz. My old monitor was 60Hz, and I overclocked it to 75Hz without any issues until it broke. I'd also appreciate any other monitor suggestions you might have. Thanks!

The GT 1030’s HDMI 2.0 can support 1440p at 144Hz, while HDMI 1.4 would limit you to 75Hz at 1440p. So if your GPU has HDMI 1.4, you’d max out at 75Hz on a 1080p monitor, which isn’t very exciting!

So if my GPU has HDMI 1.4, I'd only get 75Hz maximum with a 1080p monitor? That's disappointing!

If you're using DisplayPort, the GT 1030 can output at the full 200Hz. Just keep in mind that while Windows and lighter games will look great, most modern games might struggle at that refresh rate.

Yes, the GT 1030 can technically support 144Hz, but it's probably not the best choice. If your CPU has integrated graphics, those might outperform the GT 1030, especially for modern gaming.
