I recently purchased an RX 9060 XT 16GB to pair with my i5 12400, which I was thrilled about. The only issue is that my current power supply only has a 6-pin connector, while the GPU requires an 8-pin. My power supply does provide enough wattage (700W) for both my CPU and GPU. Should I consider upgrading to a new power supply, or can I get away with using a 6-pin to 8-pin adapter?

I’d recommend just getting a new power supply. It’s better to have reliable power rather than risk using an adapter with your setup. Plus, you’ll likely get additional features with a newer model.
It's strange for a 700W supply to only have a 6-pin. Maybe it’s a generic brand? You might want to check for better PSU options that are well-reviewed for quality.
What specific model of power supply do you have? Knowing that can help determine if it's really worth upgrading or if using an adapter might suffice.
