I'm helping a friend with his GPU upgrade, and he wants some advice. His current setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, an Nvidia RTX 2060, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. He's got a budget of $300 and a 550 watt PSU. He's considering the RTX 5060, but I'm worried about its 8GB VRAM limit. Since his build supports only PCIe Gen 4 and DDR4 RAM, I think running out of VRAM could really hurt performance. I suggested the RX 6800 since it performs slightly better and has double the VRAM. My friend isn't too concerned about ray tracing and doesn't use DLSS. Do you think the RX 6800 is a solid choice, or is there something better out there? Any insights would be appreciated!

Honestly, why are we only looking at these two options? Why not the RX 9060 XT? It could be a better pick based on performance and price.
I'd lean towards the RTX 5060 for your friend. It runs cooler and is more efficient in terms of wattage. Plus, it comes with some nice features that could be beneficial down the line, especially if he's planning to upgrade other parts later on.

Good point! I suspect the RX 9060 XT might be out of his budget though. I'm open to suggestions!
