Trouble with GPU Display After Cleaning

Hey everyone! I was cleaning my girlfriend's PC and removed the GPU to use some canned air on it. It seems that was a mistake since now that I've reinserted the card, it's not working. I've connected the 8 Pin cable from the GPU to the PSU, and while the fans on the GPU power up, I'm not getting any display. The card is seated properly, but it's a bit frustrating since the motherboard only has one PCI slot because it's a budget build. I'm feeling lost on what to do next and really need some advice!

I understand the frustration! It sounds like the GPU is getting power since the fans are spinning, which is good. But since there’s no display, it could be an issue with the card itself or how it’s seated. Make sure the PCI connectors are fully locked into place. If you have access to another GPU, even a temporary one, try swapping it out to see if the system recognizes that one. Good luck!

Hey, no need to feel bad! First things first, check if your HDMI or DisplayPort cable is properly plugged into the GPU. Sometimes it gets disconnected without us realizing. If you have no outputs on the motherboard, then you can’t test that route, so just focus on the GPU. If everything seems right and there’s still no display, it might be worth reseating the GPU again or trying a different PCI slot if possible. Let us know how it goes!
